The forecast of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that Russia’s war in Ukraine in 2023 will be protracted coincides with the forecast of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov.

This was announced on January 1 on the air of the National Telethon by Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office.

“Stoltenberg speaks in the same way as other leaders of our allied countries. They say that regardless of the duration of the war, they will support humanitarian programs by supplying weapons and providing financial assistance. As for how deeply they understand the war, the resource capabilities of Russia, Ukraine – Kirill Budanov talks about this in more detail, because today we see how the war is developing, we see the psychological state in Ukraine and Russia,” he said.

Podolyak added that the result planned by Budanov – the end of the war by the summer of 2023 with the turn of 1991 – can be achieved if Ukraine is given long-range missiles.

As for Russia, Podolyak is sure that the mobilization there will continue and the borders will be closed. Russia no longer has the resources for an adequate war; what is, cannot significantly change the situation at the front. Therefore, 2023 will decide the fate of Russia as a whole.
